Welcome #AmWriting Blueprinters!
Congratulations on completing your Blueprint for a Book!
If you’re seeking professional feedback on your work, let’s talk.
I’m Sara Gentry, one of the Author Accelerator certified book coaches who helped to cohost the Blueprint Challenge. I enjoyed getting to know you and answering your questions!
I’m offering a special rate on Blueprint feedback for #AmWriting participants. I work with writers of commercial books (across several genres) for the middle grade, young adult, and adult markets.

*Please note that most Author Accelerator certified book coaches offer fabulous Blueprint services that include multiple coaching rounds, and their prices appropriately reflect the amount of time these coaches spend with the writer. Wondering if we are a good fit to work together?
I have listed my preferred genres and book topics below, though occasionally I will work in other areas, so if you think your book may be a good fit, you are still welcome to apply. (You can learn more about my reading preferences on my FAQ page.) I enjoy working with both new and experienced writers.
I am not a good fit for books containing explicit sexual content, explicit violence, or excessive profanity.
If you are writing something outside of what I coach, I encourage you to connect with another Author Accelerator certified book coach. There are many wonderful and talented coaches in our community, and it’s important you find the right person to champion your work!
Fiction:
Middle Grade: all genres except horror
Young Adult: all genres except horror
Adult: contemporary fiction, women’s fiction, romance/historical romance (sweet or closed door), and historical fiction; select fantasy, sci-fi, mystery, and thriller; NO horror or erotica
Nonfiction:
Areas of interest include (but may not be limited to): music, the arts, writing, reading, creativity, STEAM for a general audience, family, parenting, self-help, personality, education (all age levels, including homeschooling), communication, sports, cultural or societal history, biographies, and pop culture. I work with select Christian topics. I am not a good fit for books on politics, military history, religions outside Christianity, or technical writing.
Memoir:
I am very selective in choosing memoir projects, and I prefer Memoir+ / Hybrid Memoir. Read the Nonfiction areas of interest to get a better feel for the types of content best suited for my expertise. I am not the best fit for writers whose goal is to capture their life story for their loved ones, even though I believe this to be a noble and worthy endeavor.
Blueprint Coaching Process
Step 1: Submit an application form. If I think I may be a good fit for your project, I’ll invite you to schedule a free 15-minute consultation Zoom call.
Step 2: If we both decide we are a good match, you’ll sign the coaching agreement, pay the $500 coaching fee, and submit your completed Blueprint.
Step 3: I’ll provide written feedback on your completed Blueprint with inline comments and an editorial letter that covers strengths, areas to develop, and next steps.
Step 4: We’ll meet on a 50-minute private video call to discuss the feedback, answer your questions, and discuss what comes next. Please note that I have very limited capacity to take on additional long-term clients beyond the Blueprint feedback.
