I had the privilege of being a guest on the #AmWriting podcast as part of The Summer Blueprint Challenge in 2022. It was such an honor (and if I’m being totally honest, a downright thrill since #AmWriting is one of my favorite podcasts!) to discuss narrative drive with NYT bestselling author KJ Dell’Antonia and my book coaching mentor, Jennie Nash.

I chatted with Kenny MacKay of the Author Your Dream podcast about all things related book coaching. What is a book coach? Why does a writer benefit from working with one? How do writers find book coaches? I also shared my personal experiences of being certified through Author Accelerator and why I like to work with book coaches on my own writing.

I joined hosts Christy Yaros and Sharon Skinner in Episode 13 to talk about how to study the stories with the Inside Outline. We talked about single-POV novels, multi-POV novels, graphic novels, novels in verse, and even picture books. Although the examples are drawn from KidLit (mainly middle grade), the principles apply to all age categories, making this an excellent listen for all who are studying story.

Host Abigail Perry and I did a deep-dive analysis of the first chapter in the children’s classic The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis for an episode of the Lit Match podcast. In addition to discussing story elements, we pointed out ways the market has changed since this book was published.

Co-host Sharon Skinner was a guest in both Novel Kickoff 2023 and KidLit Summer Camp in 2023. Listen to my interviews with Sharon in episode 22 of the Coaching KidLit podcast. We chat about writing speculative fiction for all ages.

Co-host Christy Yaros was a guest in both Novel Kickoff 2023 and KidLit Summer Camp in 2023. In episode 24 of the Coaching KidLit podcast, Christy shares her interview from Novel Kickoff 2023 on project management for writers.
