Problem: You long to share your stories with the world, but you’re struggling to write a novel that meets the demands of a crowded and competitive market.
Solution: Work with me to structure your story into a cohesive and compelling novel that appeals to your ideal reader.
Welcome, Storyteller!
Working with a book coach means you are making a commitment to yourself and your writing, so I want to congratulate you on taking this significant step!
There are many free or low-cost resources available to writers. When you’re a newer writer, they provide valuable information and guidance to help you learn the craft and business of writing. Most writers will reach a point, however, in which these resources are not enough to take them to the next level.
Receiving feedback is the best way to improve your writing. That’s where a book coach comes in.
As your book coach, I provide written feedback on your work and answer your questions during coaching calls. I help you bring forth your best work so that you can accelerate your progress on achieving your publishing goals.
I’m nerdy about all the big-picture stuff (book logic, organization, cohesion, project management, and market placement) so you can focus on writing the best story you can.
Who do I work with?
I am best positioned to serve writers who write well at the line level but need help with structure, book logic, cohesion, and market placement. I welcome both experienced authors and unpublished writers across genres (except horror and erotica) and age categories (middle grade, young adult, and adult).
My favorite book qualities are quick pacing, strong voice, and purposeful structure. A dose of humor is always welcome! I am not a good match for books with graphic violence, explicit sexual content, or glorification of villainous behavior. At this time, I am not working with picture books, early readers, and chapter books. Learn more about my reading preferences on my FAQ page to determine if your book may be a good fit for my coaching services.
"From the start, Sara was professional and approachable. The feedback I received was insightful, thought provoking and specific. Her coaching style feels like a conversation with someone as invested in your story as you are. Sara’s questions help you dig deeper in a way that is actionable. Huge for me when digging deeper can often mean going down the rabbit hole then stress eating my way out. With Sara’s help, I can see the possibilities without getting lost or overwhelmed. I’ve learned so much already. Very exciting!”

Book Coaching for Novelists
Brief introduction to large group, small group, private.
Novel Resolution
Novel Resolution is a group coaching program that guides you through the process of writing or revising a novel in one year.
This program is ideal for writers who are ready to take a more conscientious approach to writing a novel suitable for today’s market. Writers of all experience levels, markets (adult, YA, and middle grade), and most fiction genres (NO erotica or horror) are welcome.
Novel Resolution is my most affordable coaching option. It will next open for enrollment in January 2025.
Small Group Coaching
My small group coaching programs allow you to make significant progress on your novel while connecting with fellow writers in a four-week intensive.
Groups consist of 3-5 writers at similar stages of the novel-writing process. You will have weekly group coaching calls, guided assignments, written feedback on your work, and the opportunity to participate in my private online community of writers.
Upon completing the intensive, you will have clarity and direction for what to do next.
Private Coaching
Private coaching is for writers who want the most individualized services I offer. You’ll receive written feedback on your work (inline comments and editorial letters), private coaching calls, and email support between deadlines.
As a new client, you’ll begin with my “Book Triage” service in which we will identify the most problematic issues in your book or story idea.
Upon completing “Book Triage,” you may continue to work with me in a short-term intensive that is personally tailored to your needs and situation.
