Problem: You’ve read all the writing books and taken all the writing classes, but you’re not moving the needle on achieving your book-writing goals.

Solution: Private book coaching provides focused attention on YOUR book and provides the most efficient way to finish writing your book.

How does private book coaching work?

First, we’ll have a free consultation call to determine if we are a good fit to work together. I work with fiction, memoir, and nonfiction writers as follows.

FICTION: I work with writers of middle grade, young adult, and adult fiction. In the middle grade and YA markets, I work with writers of all genres. In the adult market, I work privately with writers of contemporary fiction, women’s fiction, romance, historical fiction, historical romance, and select mystery, thriller, and suspense. I work with writers of all genres (except horror and erotica) and age categories in my group program, Novel Resolution. Learn more about my reading preferences on my FAQ page to determine if your book may be a good fit for my coaching services.

MEMOIR: I am very selective in choosing memoir projects. I am not the best fit for writers whose goal is to capture their life story for their loved ones, even though I believe this to be a noble and worthy endeavor. Learn more about my reading preferences on my FAQ page to determine if your book may be a good fit for my coaching services.

NONFICTION: I work with writers across age categories (middle grade, YA, or adult) who intend to publish their work for a commercial audience. My particular areas of interest include (but may not be limited to): music, the arts, writing and reading, creativity, STEAM for a general audience, family and parenting, self-help, personality, education (at all levels, including homeschooling), communication, sports, cultural or societal history, biographies, and pop culture. I work with select Christian topics. I am not a good fit for books on politics, military history, religions outside Christianity, or technical writing. Learn more about my reading preferences on my FAQ page to determine if your book may be a good fit for my coaching services.

If both of us think a book-coaching relationship would be beneficial, we’ll discuss which book-coaching service best fits your circumstances. If I do not think I am a good match for your project, I will refer you to one of my talented colleagues.

"From the start, Sara was professional and approachable. The feedback I received was insightful, thought provoking and specific. Her coaching style feels like a conversation with someone as invested in your story as you are. Sara’s questions help you dig deeper in a way that is actionable. Huge for me when digging deeper can often mean going down the rabbit hole then stress eating my way out. With Sara’s help, I can see the possibilities without getting lost or overwhelmed. I’ve learned so much already. Very exciting!”

Book Coaching Services

I’m nerdy about all the big-picture stuff (book logic, organization, cohesion, project management, and market awareness) so you can focus on getting your ideas on the page to share your brilliance with the world.

The Next Write Step

Investment: $300 or $500 per round

Time Frame: Variable

This service is for you if you can commit to making steady progress on your book at your preferred pace.

Each round includes inline comments on your work, a private video call, and direction for your next steps.

At the end of each deadline, I will prescribe the next step needed to advance your project. Examples of next steps: book planning, developing an aspect of your main character, writing the next pages of your first draft, editing pages, creating a revision plan, and developing a writing strategy.

This service may be repeated as desired. An 80,000-word novel would typically take 16-20 rounds at the $300 level or 8-10 rounds at the $500 level.

Payment schedule: Full payment is collected at the beginning of each round.

Author Accelerator Blueprints

Investment: $200 (Mini Blueprint) or $1000 (Full Blueprint)

Time Frame: 1 week (Mini), 4-8 weeks (Full)

This service is for you if you want feedback from an Author Accelerator certified book coach on any of Jennie Nash’s Blueprint systems. I am certified to work with writers on all Blueprints: fiction, memoir, and nonfiction.

The Mini Blueprint is best for writers who want a quick evaluation of their book idea and direction on what key concepts they may still need to develop. The Mini Blueprint service includes: an Author Accelerator Mini Blueprint for you to complete, feedback on your Mini Blueprint, and a 50-minute private video call to discuss.

The Full Blueprint is best for writers who are committed to doing the hard work of nailing down their book’s key components in less than two months. (Writers who are a bit hazy on their book concept may find it better to choose The Next Write Step to complete the Blueprint over several deadlines, which would allow for more time.) The Full Blueprint service includes: a digital copy of Jennie Nash’s Blueprint for a Book (fiction, memoir, or nonfiction according to your book), an Author Accelerator Blueprint for you to complete, feedback on your Blueprint with a 50-minute private video call to discuss, feedback on your revised Blueprint, and a second 50-minute private video call to discuss.

Payment schedule: Full payment is collected at the beginning of the Mini Blueprint service. Payment options available for the Full Blueprint: pay in full at the start or pay in two installments of $500 each.

Revision Remedy

Investment: $2000 for YA/Adult up to 100K words ($1200 for Middle Grade up to 50K words)

(Revision Remedy is a new service with introductory pricing. Price will increase to $2500 for YA/AD and $1500 for MG in Oct. 2024.)

Time Frame: 4 weeks

Prerequisite: completed manuscript or book proposal

This service is for you if you don’t know what to do with what you’ve written, and you are overwhelmed by the thought of revision. Maybe you’ve even gotten feedback on your writing, but the comments you’ve received are only adding to your confusion. You want a professional assessment of your writing, but more importantly, you need a clear revision plan that tells you what to do and in what order to do it.

Revision Remedy is more than a manuscript evaluation. In addition to receiving professional feedback on your writing, you’ll gain clarity and come away with a clear, step-by-step personalized plan of action to guide your revision.

I’ll read your full manuscript and provide you with an editorial letter that covers developmental feedback. We’ll also discuss feedback you’ve received in the past to help clear up confusion. I’ll create an actionable step-by-step list you can use to guide your revision so you have direction on what you need to do to take your writing to the next level. I’ll even provide inline comments on your first 20 pages so that you have a clearer idea of what will be expected of you as you revise. We’ll wrap up with a private video call to answer your remaining questions.

Payment schedule: Full payment is collected at the beginning of the Revision Remedy book coaching service.

Custom Writing Retreat

Investment: $1000+

Time Frame: 1-3 days

This service is for you if you want to work intensively on your book in a short time frame.

You might use a Custom Writing Retreat to outline your book, develop a new story idea, create your pitch package, work through a revision plan…. There are many possibilities!

This option is also available for groups.

There are limited openings for this service each month due to the demanding time commitment.

Payment schedule: A $500 payment is required to reserve time on my calendar. The remaining balance is due one week before the Retreat begins.

A word about pricing: Private book coaching prices reflect the amount of time, feedback, and personal attention each writer receives. I aim to offer solutions for every writer’s budget. If private coaching is not for you right now, my Novel Resolution group program is a very affordable option that offers high-quality instruction, group coaching, accountability, and support for fiction writers.

"Sara is kind and encouraging; her goal is clearly to help me reach my goals, not hers, for my book. She is specific and insightful, with helpful questions and perspectives for moving my revision process forward. Perhaps most of all, she is organized and professional. If you are looking for direction for your writing and encouragement for yourself, absolutely reach out to Sara!"
